Wireless digital cameras unveiled

Nikon, Eastman Kodak and Sony have introduced digital cameras with integrated wireless technology, such as WiFi or Bluetooth, reports Sun-Sentinel.

The new generation devices wirelessly send photographs to cellphones and other gadgets, photo-sharing Web sites and e-mail addresses. This wireless move for digital cameras, which has only recently gone mainstream, aims to make digital cameras standalone devices.

Wireless digital cameras will allow travellers to leave their laptops at home and, using a WiFi network, e-mail the pictures to themselves from their cameras.

EOS gets software upgrade

Canon announced a software upgrade for EOS Utility version 2.0.2 and Digital Photo Professional 3.0.2 that modifies camera-computer connectivity and RAW editing capabilities, reports DigitalCameraInfo.

EOS Utility controls communication from the camera to the computer, including remote shooting. The upgrade has added an Auto Power Off mode during remote live view and correct click white balance when using the 1D Mark III.

Digital Photo Professional 3.0.2 has improved its RAW editing and conversion characteristics on images shot with EOS digital cameras. It has also improved the image display quality and correct Picture Style setting values.
