Wizard-driven `e-commerce in a box`

ASYST International SA, the sole South African distributor for Access Accounting Ltd has unveiled a new, wizard-driven version of its popular AccessweB software package - to meet the demand for e-commerce web sites that integrate with accounts software.

Since Access launched its AccessweB version 2 earlier this year, companies from many different industries have signed up for AccessweB shops that link to their sales order processing and stock systems.

The AccessweB 2.2 solution displays its new wizard interface on start up, to lead users step by step through the site configuration process. Separate wizards cover initial set up, page design and adding a web shop in easy to follow logical stages.

Access Accounting, a pioneer in financials, is the first company that is able to integrate accounts software with low cost remotely hosted web sites, and now offers some 30 fully integrated modules to cater for every business process.

"Having a web site is one thing, but to trade successfully on the web, you need to fully integrate that web site with your back office accounting software, commented Paul Marketos, Managing Director of ASYST International SA. "Ordering on the web should be an instantaneous transaction and not dependent upon some back office clerk downloading a data file, manipulating it, and then inputting manually into the accounting software. There are too many delays and too many opportunities for human error. Accounting software that can link directly to the web site is therefore the key to success in e-commerce financials," Marketos added.
