WNS South Africa, a leading international business process management company, today announced the opening of its multi-customer shared services processing centre in Centurion, Gauteng.
The new shared services processing centre will deliver a range of business processes spanning multiple business functions such as human resource services, finance and accounting, procurement, IT and legal services.
According to Johann Kunz, Managing Director of WNS South Africa, this expansion marks a significant milestone for the organisation. "By opening a multi-customer shared services centre of this kind in South Africa, we are extending the range of services we can offer our clients, both locally and abroad. The South African BPO industry is no longer restricted to delivering processes related to contact centre services, but is now capable of providing broader solutions as well as complex business functions," says Kunz.
Shared services or a shared services centre refers to a dedicated, centralised unit of people, processes and technologies performing defined business functions of a company that were once performed in separate divisions or locations.
"We are delighted to be able to deliver a truly 'glocalised' offering from our shared services centre in South Africa by leveraging a wealth of global expertise and best practices, but utilising local resources for implementation," Kunz notes.
The new delivery centre is centrally located in terms of proximity to major business hubs and transport nodes in the region, with access to a rich talent pool of qualified professionals. Based on these, and other strategic factors, the shared services delivery centre has the potential to grow at a rapid pace, and thus, create an entirely new pipeline of jobs for the region.
"While this is the first shared services centre of its kind for WNS South Africa, we anticipate this set-up to be mirrored and brought to other locations in the country in due course," concludes Kunz.
