Woolworths chooses STT for Retek training

Johannesburg, 04 Nov 2004

Woolworths, a South African retailer with more than 13 000 employees and stores in Africa and the Middle East - has selected STT Trainer for the development, management and deployment of its systems training.

"STT Trainer was selected after a rigorous `proof of concept` in which we were compared feature by feature against other e-learning software solutions. STT Trainer`s ability to capture Java applications accurately and its comprehensive toolset were pivotal in Woolworths` selection of STT Trainer," says Lenard Hall, STT Regional Sales Manager for Africa, Asia-Pacific and Australia.

The training will support Woolworths` new merchandise management system, Retek, which is currently being rolled out. "Retek will help us to better meet our customers` needs through improved in-store availability and better store assortments, ranges and solutions. Our ability to train our staff using these new technologies is critical to the successful implementation of Retek. STT Trainer will provide software simulations and documentation for our training requirements," says Brian Morris, Woolworths CIO.

Woolworths will initially use STT Trainer for its Retek Merchandising System implementation.
