Local distributor, Workgroup, a specialist software company in the Siltek IT supply chain group, has confirmed its appointment as a sub-distributor for Seagate Software in South Africa. According to Cherise Greenwood, Workgroup product manager, the decision was taken to distribute Seagate Reports, Seagate Info and Seagate Holos as the products have considerable potential as far as the local business intelligence market is concerned.
In addition to this, Greenwood says that Workgroup has a dealer base in excess of 5000 members to market Seagate products to.
With training playing a vital role any time a new product is introduced to the market or organisation, Workgroup also intends running a series of workshops and functions targeting its dealer base for education as well as implementing a series of e-mail and fax shots to promote the software. Vivek Thomas, regional manager for Middle East and Africa at Seagate Software Information Management Group (IMG), says that the appointment will put the company in a position to reach a greater number of local developers, retailers, solution providers, system integrators and VAR's to ensure they have access to Seagate's product range.
