Vodacom World Online, part of Tiscali S.p.A, has launched a new application hosting service enabling corporates and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to host their dedicated servers on a high-speed network in a secure and managed off-site environment.
The hosting service enables companies of any size to locate their servers in a hi-tech Internet Data Centre (IDC) featuring fail-safe measures such as redundancy, backup and fire suppression.
According to World Online MD Graeme Victor, the hosting service will allow businesses to save on IT skills development costs, expensive IT infrastructure and bandwidth, allowing customers to cultivate a competitive advantage by focusing on their core business.
