Axiz has announced the availability of LG`s GSA-4040B Super Multi CD/DVD Re-Writer. According to Philip Henning, LG product manager at Axiz, this device is the only DVD-writer in the world to support all three DVD formats, namely DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW and DVD-RAM.
He continues: "The single most important advantage to this drive is that it enables the user to read and write any CD/DVD format media available on the market, making it a hassle-free product for consumers."
Henning explains: "Many consumers have become frustrated in the past after buying a DVD or CD drive without knowing or understanding the difference between the various formats available. This has resulted in these buyers finding themselves lumbered with a drive that doesn`t do what they wanted it to do. Thanks to this new CD/DVD re-writer from LG, these customers now have a fool-proof solution."
The device offers multi-format writing of DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, CD-R and CD-RW, while it reads DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM, CD-RW and CD-ROM.
Users can record up to 4.7GB of data on DVD media with this device which offers a 2MB buffer with Superlink buffer under-run error protection. It is compatible with Microsoft Windows XP, 2000, ME and Windows 98.
The LG Super Multi CD/DVD Re-Writer carries a recommended retail price of R2 699 (VAT included).
