Newmont Mining, the world`s largest gold producer, has replaced its previous reporting tool with BI Series 7 from Cognos, the world leader in business intelligence (BI) and corporate performance management.
Integrated into the Cognos Enterprise Planning solution, BI Series 7 gives Newmont decision-makers the ability to analyse and report against their vast stores of enterprise financial and project data, and effectively drive Newmont`s performance against its corporate plan - all from a single solution vendor.
Newmont Mining, headquartered in Denver, Colorado, has significant assets and operations on five continents. It is engaged in the production and sale of primarily gold and some copper and zinc, as well as the exploration and acquisition of gold properties worldwide.
In rapid initial deployment process, Newmont could pull Cognos Enterprise Planning data into Cognos. Running on a standard dual-processor Dell server, BI Series 7 will initially serve a user community of top-level decision-makers. With Cognos BI Series 7, Newmont will track performance against annual forecasts and budgets; and monitor cash flow, expenses, project budgets and timelines.
