Worry-Free means what it says, ideal for SME market

Johannesburg, 04 Aug 2010

SecureData, a company listed on the JSE, is the largest security focused distributor in Africa and specialises on information security solutions and services.

It has a presence in all sectors of the South African market and works exclusively through its channel partners. However, it has traditionally been focused on the large enterprise sector with limited solutions available to the SME market; this situation has now changed with the introduction of a new initiative aimed specifically at its channel partners, which operate in this space.

This new SME-focused partner initiative is underpinned by a program that seeks to educate, empower and provide value-added services to these organisations, so they can serve a market that is becoming increasingly important. In addition to providing them with a comprehensive portfolio of products suitable for such a venture, SecureData is also supplying product management capabilities, sector specialists and a raft of security managed services offerings that can be utilised by the channel.

One very specific example of a product offering ideal for SMEs is Trend Micro's Worry-Free Business Security Suite (WFB), which provides a centralised server protection capability for an entire business. With this centralised server and its associated Client/Server security agent, an entire network is protected from malicious Web sites, malware, spyware and spam.

“From the reviews that have been published and from our own experiences with the customer base, this product really lives up to its name,” commented Lee Bristow, Product Manager at SecureData for Trend's products. “In addition, recent figures from Context's SalesWatch showed that Trend Micro sold the highest number of security licences via distribution in the UK, France, Germany and Italy during the second quarter of 2010, with some products from its WFB suite ranking first, second and fourth among the top-10 products sold in the SME security segment.”

SecureData Security, part of JSE-listed SecureData Holdings, is the sole sub-Saharan distributor for Trend Micro.
