Wound care physicians get capture app
medical revenue cycle management and patient satisfaction services, announced the launch of a new technology that streamlines the data capture and billing process for wound care physicians, PhysBizTech reports.
MedData's Wound Care Center Application provides physician entry of Superbill information for nursing home patients receiving wound care. Physicians can utilise the secure Web application via tablet or laptop with a standard Internet connection. Images of face sheets can be created with handheld/portable scanners or phone cameras, which the physician then attaches to encounter records. Physicians also enter the CPT codes and diagnosis codes for each encounter, and then upload the records to MedData for billing.
All information gathered from this portal is passed to MedData through secure connections, and is then loaded into MedData processing applications that allow MedData to bill and manage the accounts receivable, AR Management writes.
Physicians can view all active cases, closed cases and use the "Bill Next" buttons to work their full list of patient visits for the day. A screen counter shows all cases in the queue, and will decrement as cases are worked for real-time tracking.
"Wound care physicians often travel to multiple nursing homes and benefit from having a rapid way to enter the information necessary for billing while they are onsite," explained Sue Chilson, MedData's CIO. "As a revenue cycle management leader in compliance, MedData constantly strives to remain at the forefront of our clients' technological needs. This secure mobile application aligns our innovation with our clients' critical path processes."
