WWT achieves Cisco tech provider status

World Wide Technology (WWT), a systems integrator that provides technology and supply chain solutions, has achieved Video Surveillance Authorised Technology Provider status from Cisco, says Trading Markets.

This designation recognises WWT as having fulfilled the training requirements and programme prerequisites to design, resell, install and maintain a full range of Cisco video surveillance and access-control solutions.

Cisco physical security solutions provide network-centric capabilities to video surveillance, Internet Protocol cameras, electronic access control and other technologies by converging voice, data and physical security into a single appliance.

Business communications provider Avaya is to host its annual Business Partner Conference on 20 January, in Dubai, to recap its 2008 performance and highlight growth strategies, says AME Info.

Avaya's outlook for 2009 includes increasing investment in developing its channel ecosystem, aiming for a standard global channel organisation and infrastructure to ultimately increase its sales through the channel.

The company's new channel-centric strategy will drive neutrality and linearity and focus on vertical markets.

Sourcefire has significantly expanded its channel partner network in EMEA, enabling the company to further grow its business in the international market, states Data Centre Solutions.

New partners include Group IB in Russia, BT Cybernetworks in France, Naizak in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Vistorm in the UK, Calyx in Ireland, Integralis in Sweden, IT Cube in Germany and Axians in The Netherlands, all leaders in their respective markets.

Sourcefire is attractive to these companies because the Sourcefire 3D System is not a commodity security product; this presents the channel with the opportunity to sell value-add services and to deliver Sourcefire's solution as a managed service to the customer.
