FESPA has announced that Xaar, an independent supplier of industrial inkjet printheads, inks and peripheral equipment, is to become the organisation`s first ever global technology partner, states Graphic Repro.

Xaar will play a vital role in supporting FESPA`s forthcoming global events, including the Director`s Forum in Budapest (28 - 29 February 2008), FESPA Digital Printing Europe 2008 in Geneva (1 - 3 April) and the FESPA World Expo Asia Pacific 2008 in Bangkok (28 - 30 November).

Xaar will have the opportunity to be involved in FESPA-organised digital debates and networking opportunities, present and participate in technology and business seminars, and will be referenced in FESPA promotional materials.

Dell evaluates EqualLogic channel

EqualLogic channel awaits Dell`s decision over channel strategy, following its announcement over the planned takeover of the SAN vendor, according to CRN.

Many of EqualLogic`s UK partners have already started exploring alternative vendor options following the news of Dell`s $1.4 billion planned acquisition of the SAN vendor.

Dell recently revealed its direct sales model would no longer be "a religion", but Doug Rich, EMEA VP of iSCSI vendor LeftHand Networks, said EqualLogic partners seem to be keeping their options open.

Channel partner programme enhanced

Extreme Networks announced an enhanced Channel Partner Programme for MEA, beginning January 2008, says AME Info.

Extreme Networks has built its success in partnership with its channel, and the enhanced Channel Partner Programme is built to better respond to the needs of the fast-growing partners. This will be applied in critical markets, where the need for converged and secure network solutions is clear.

The changes to the Channel Partner Programme act to reward investment by partners in sales, competence and skills, thus allowing channel partners to improve their status and rewards in line with mutual business goals.
