Deltalink Consulting, the exclusive southern African distributor of Russia-based ABBYY, today announced that ABBYY Software House, a leading developer of document recognition and linguistic software, and Xerox International Group have signed an agreement to supply ABBYY FineReader Sprint Plus text recognition software for Xerox multifunction devices, with the first device to be equipped with this software being the Xerox WorkCentre PE220.

"By adding text and image recognition software to such devices we make it possible for Xerox equipment users to extend the capabilities of their multifunctional machines and to improve the management of their documents."
ABBYY FineReader Sprint Plus is extremely popular as the software recognises documents in 177 languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Russian and Spanish. The results are editable in all popular office applications, including e-mail and Web use.
"In addition to the above software available via ABBYY, we are able to offer users additional capabilities in this area, in order to provide a fully functional solution," added Gerrie Terblanche, MD of Deltalink Consulting.
The ABBYY FineReader application will be supplied with multifunctional devices in all countries where Xerox International Group operates. Xerox International Group markets Xerox products in over 100 countries of the world across Eastern Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East, Africa and India.
