Bytes Document Solutions has launched its new WorkCentre M20i multifunction device, which delivers high-end functionality to the desktop. The new product helps office workers clear out a clutter of standalone printers, copiers and fax machines and replace them with one compact, easy to use device that can print, copy, fax, scan and e-mail.
The WorkCentre M20i handles both letter and legal-size documents offering print and copy speeds of up to 22 pages per minute and an industry leading first-copy-out time of less than nine seconds. Two-sided printing is standard. Customers can opt for multiple paper trays, allowing a combination of letter and legal-sized paper to be used within the same job.
In addition, a feature called "ID Card Copy" enables people to copy both sides of a document, such as a licence or insurance card, onto one side of a piece of paper. Critical for medical and healthcare organisations, this feature not only reduces paper waste but it also cuts the time and steps involved to create files for patients.
"Desktop multifunctional devices that print/copy at 21-30ppm appeal to a wide range of small to mid-sized businesses seeking faster speeds and higher capacity for supplies than found on lower end devices," said Dan Corsetti of IDC, a market research firm. "Due to the demand from these users, this segment of the market is expected to grow nearly 13% annually from 2004 through 2008 in the US."
"Xerox is helping customers solve business challenges with a feature-packed desktop multifunction device that has the muscle to stand up to their everyday office needs," said Tanya Moodley, Product and Marketing Manager. "This product will help customers in a variety of industries save time and money by using features that deliver exceptional performance."
The WorkCentre M20i is a digital copier/printer with colour scanning. It also offers fast fax speeds due to compression technology that creates smaller files that can be faxed quicker, saving time and telephone costs. It offers remote device monitoring and management capabilities through the Web. In addition, the intuitive user interface, simple print drivers and straightforward scan to e-mail capability require little to no training.
The M20i comes with ScanSoft`s PaperPort SE v9.0 - software that allows people to automatically create PDF files from scanned documents -- and OmniPage SE v2.0 software, which converts paper and PDF files into editable electronic documents. Both software tools eliminate numerous steps for organising, sharing and storing documents, leading to higher worker productivity and faster access to critical information.
The WorkCentre M20i is available immediately in SA, East Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands and is sold through Xerox direct sales, authorised sales agents, resellers and dealers.
