Following exceptional growth experienced in its first eight months of business in SA, the Xerox Channels Group (XCG) is restructuring, has appointed a new management team, is increasing its headcount, and has upgraded support facilities for the local channel.
Following the promotion of Jean-Paul Virzi Laccania to director for France, XCG, Peter Moss has assumed the position of group GM and will be based in Dubai. Having joined the company while in Zimbabwe during 1991, Moss is ell acquainted with the idiosyncrasies of the markets in southern Africa nd should prove an able replacement.
Moss sees huge potential in the business locally and intends to invest urther in people and infrastructure. "I am pleased to confirm the ppointment of Donald Goldfain, who has 15 years experience in istribution, as general manager of XCG South Africa the company Seconded o XCG to replace Bell, Goldfain sees huge potential in the business and ntends to invest further in people and infrastructure. "Any business that as grown as fast as this one has is bound to experience growing pains," he ays.
"For me, this was the first order of business to address, and the next is o ensure that providing the necessary infrastructure to facilitate further xpansion is in place. Growth is an obsession if we are to achieve rofitable revenue," says Moss.
Goldfain`s intent is to improve still further on the excellent results CG`s first eight months in business has wrought (see accompanying release:
XCG: Moves up through the pack). "If we are to capitalise on this success nd position ourselves for still more growth, we`ll need people - another rea I am currently addressing," he comments.
Insofar as support is concerned, Goldfain he says the existing facilities ill shortly undergo a major upgrade (see accompanying release: XCG beefs p support infrastructure). Describing the move as pre-emptive, he says it s being made because XCG expects to outgrow its existing infrastructure hortly. "In anticipation of further exponential growth we are adding heads nd strengthening our support infrastructure."
From a customer viewpoint, however, there will be no obvious changes. The ell-known XCG toll-free support line (0800555666) remains operational from :00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, providing access to 240 technicians erox employs countrywide.
"In matters support-related, I believe in always providing excess capacity nd this should help us meet our support needs for many years to come," he ays.
Addressing Bell`s departure, Goldfain says it was amicable and that a good elationship still exists. "Billy expressed a need to get out, have some un and do what he is best at - selling. He acquired an interest in one of ur Xtraordinary Partners and, as such, will continue to deal with us."
