Xerox gives multitasking the digital advantage

Xerox expands its multifunction offering with affordable digital copier-printers
Johannesburg, 09 Dec 2003

Bytes Document Solutions, the authorised distributor of Xerox products in southern and eastern Africa announced today the availability of the WorkCentre Range of multifunction devices, which offers Xerox-quality copying and network printing along with scanning, faxing, Internet faxing and e-mailing - all in one compact system.

Shared workgroup devices, like the WorkCentre multifunction systems, support large and small businesses to cut overall office costs and reduce infrastructure.

Gartner Dataquest, a leading technology research and advisory firm, has studied the economics of consolidating office equipment assets. The research house surveyed small, midsize and large businesses regarding their acquisition criteria for multifunction products. Its finding revealed that device consolidation was the main reason given for acquiring a workgroup multifunctional device, with a quarter of the respondents citing cost savings as their key motivation and nearly another quarter indicating process improvement as their purchasing rationale.

"These products represent a new era for Xerox and our customers," said Tanya Moodley. "The new Xerox WorkCentre range can meet every budget, satisfy big or small offices, and accomplish both simple and complex jobs."

The Xerox WorkCentre line offers options for low-volume and mid-volume copying and printing. Features such as scan to e-mail, print-queue management at the device or PC and digital concurrency are an added advantage for customers looking for affordable, basic multifunction capabilities.

The CopyCentre - C35, C45, C55, WorkCentre - M35, M45 and M55 and WorkCentre Pro - WCP35, WCP45, WCP55 are digital copier/printers that produce 35, 45 and 55 print per minute, respectively. These devices offer the essential features of a Xerox multifunction device, such as concurrent scan-while-print; scan-once/print-many technology; job monitoring at the device and desktop with added options for e-mail, scan to file, and image overwrite security features. They are modular and upgradeable to fully networked office systems.

Sales, service and leasing are offered through the Xerox direct sales force, authorised sales agents, dealers and concessionaires and African operations.
