Xerox, represented throughout sub-Saharan Africa by Bytes Document Solutions, has been selected as one of "100 Companies That Matter in Knowledge Management" by KMWorld magazine.
Selection in the March 2006 issue of KMWorld was based on the quality and effectiveness of Xerox`s DocuShare 4.0.1 software, a secure, Web-based enterprise content management system. This annual listing, now in its sixth year, is assembled by knowledge management practitioners, theorists, vendors, customers, analysts and publication editors.
"KMWorld strives to encourage broader discussion around knowledge management and to recognise those companies with the capacity for agile innovation, something which our annual listing is successfully achieving," says Hugh McKellar, editor-in-chief of KMWorld.
"The Xerox DocuShare 4.0.1 offering was selected because it is clearly an effective business solution and has to date demonstrated leadership in the enterprise content management market. To boot, Xerox is recognised as a company that transforms and improves the way organisations work through knowledge management systems, solutions and services."
DocuShare 4.0.1 is a collaborative tool that helps knowledge workers capture, review, approve, manage and publish various types of content. It is easy to use and deploy, and enables organisations to retain and re-use their internal knowledge.
Xerox offers a range of knowledge management services that help companies understand the way their employees work, allowing them to protect intellectual property, improve productivity and stay ahead of their competitors.
"DocuShare takes the mystery out of knowledge management with an enterprise content management solution that is intuitive and fast to implement," says Rob Abraham, MD of Bytes Document Solutions. "This KMWorld recognition demonstrates how far Xerox has come in successfully solving customers` knowledge management problems so they can achieve their critical business objectives."
This is the fourth time Xerox has been included in the KMWorld "100 Companies That Matter" list since it began in 2000.
