A $9 million deal with graphics service provider C2 Media.com has marked the 2 000th installation of a Xerox DocuColor 2000 digital colour press since its June 2000 launch.
The DocuColor 2000 Series, which includes the DocuColor 2060 digital colour press, was developed to provide high volume on-demand printing, personalised printing, and printing and publishing for e-commerce and Internet delivery. The DocuColor 2060 prints at 60ppm, provides 600 x 600 dpi printing at 8-bit depth and offers variable data printing.
Paul Haglich, Xerox South Africa Printing Systems Group marketing manager, says: "Besides its unique capabilities of speed, near-offset image quality and oversize substrate handling for `full bleed` image printing, the DC2060 has lowered the cost of full colour digital printing by approx. 40% on a cost-per-page basis, when compared to existing full colour digital printers/copiers available.
"This has positioned the DC2060 as the ideal solution for short-run, on-demand, high quality, personalised, full colour production printing. It has been well received by the local market with initial installations in the Financial Services industry sector, and we expect to increase our installations at least threefold within the next year."
