Xerox launches high-speed WorkCentre 3550

Johannesburg, 12 Nov 2010

Xerox has announced its new WorkCentre 3550, a black and white, multifunction printer (MFP) designed to handle a variety of tasks in busy offices.

Designed for small- and medium-sized businesses, the WorkCentre 3550 copies, scans, faxes and prints at speeds up to 33 A4 pages per minute.

“This is a powerful and compact machine,” says Ernest Leong, product manager office printing business in the Xerox division at Bytes Document Solutions, authorised Xerox distributor to 27 sub-Saharan countries. “It also includes advanced features, such as automatic duplex printing and the CentreWare Internet Services device management tool, to help users be more productive.”

The WorkCentre 3550 addresses a variety of business needs:

* Standard paper capacity of 550 sheets - expandable to 1 050 sheets - can handle heavy office print volumes;
* Secure print keeps documents from printing until users provide a PIN code to release the job;
* Colour scanning provides customers with the ability to capture documents as they originally appeared;
* Files are easily transferred through the print-from and scan-to USB thumb drive on the front of the MFP without the need of a PC;
* Scanning and faxing features such as network scan to PC, scan-to-email, fax-forward-to-fax/e-mail let users send documents in different ways; and
* Optical character recognition software quickly and easily turns user's hard copies into editable, manageable electronic documents.

“The WorkCentre 3550 is for the modern-day office team that needs to manage its documents quickly and easily,” says Leong. “This addition to Xerox's family of office products combines robust performance with advanced features to raise the bar on workplace productivity.”

The user-friendly control panel with efficient menu layout makes the WorkCentre 3550 easy to use. The 60-sheet duplex automatic document feeder (DADF) offers convenient, money-saving, two-sided output across all features. Other cost-saving features include toner-saver and power-saver modes, as well as N-up printing and ID Card Copy.
