Xerox launches three MFDs to increase office colour, productivity

Johannesburg, 20 Jul 2006

Xerox, distributed throughout 24 sub-Saharan countries by Bytes Document Solutions, has released the Xerox WorkCentre 7228/7235/7245 multifunction devices to improve business efficiency, productivity and colour output in office environments.

Sporting a large, colourful, easy-to-use graphical user interface, these latest devices can print onto A3 paper in colour, using advanced toner technology for high-quality print detail and reduced waste.

"The additions to the WorkCentre family are part of Xerox`s ongoing commitment to create products that drive growth and customer value," says Amanda Hetherington, colour product manager at Bytes Document Solutions. "The devices are leading the transition from black and white to colour and saving companies time and money. With high-definition print engines and full print, scan and fax functionality, they are powerful printing and communication hubs."

The rated speed, page volume capacity, colour and productivity capabilities position the new WorkCentres for use on print jobs that otherwise would be sent to commercial copy shops. The machines feature Xerox`s Emulsion Aggregation High Gloss Toner, which enhances the level of print detail and reduces the amount of toner needed. This Xerox-patented technology enables nearly 100% toner transfer to a page.

Designed for organisations that require robust colour solutions with professional in-house finishing capabilities, the WorkCentre 7228/7235/7245 offer resolution of 1 200 x 1 200dpi (dots per inch). Combined with throughput for A3 size, the WorkCentre 7228/7235/7245 family has a fast processing time of up to 45ppm (pages per minute) in black and white and 35ppm in colour. First copy out time is 4.8 seconds for black and white prints and 7.2 seconds for colour, with a warm up time of only 45 seconds.

Automatic features, such as auto-image quality, auto-registration, auto-rotation, auto-paper select, auto-tray switching and auto-job recovery, ensure consistently sharp, clear image quality output.

"The devices are expected to be especially appealing to industries in which colour printing is a must, such as professional services, government and education, healthcare, financial services and life sciences," Hetherington says.

"They are also particularly suited to companies looking to reduce their printer fleet costs through asset consolidation. For users of black and white multifunction products with limited access to colour, the WorkCentre family is ideal to lead the transition to a fully functioning colour office."
