Xerox pitches printer range
Xerox has released three printers pitched at a range of office requirements, reports Computing.co.uk.
The WorkCentre 7700 series, WorkCentre 4250 and Phaser 6140 offer new features including the ability to print up to 75 pages per minute (ppm). The 7700 series includes three models - the 7755, 7765 and 7775 - and offers an A3 colour multifunction system delivering at 2 400 x 2 400 dpi resolution.
"We have been hard at work bringing our advanced multi-function and printer technologies to our entire product line," says Malcolm Glynn, product marketing manager at Xerox.
Digital publishing solutions gain ground
There's no doubt that magazine and newspaper publishers are feeling the pressure not only of the economic downturn but of a relentless shift of their readers to the Web, states Graphics.com.
That being the case, a solution that holds out the promise of reducing costs as well as the time it takes to repurpose content for digital media is bound to be of interest. The combination of Microsoft Unified Communications and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, along with Quark Dynamic Publishing Solution and Quark XML Author, results in a package that could make it easier for journalists, editors and publishers to create content for different formats and audiences.
The approach begins by allowing editorial staff to view incoming RSS feeds, share story ideas, keep track of upcoming events and plan coverage of events.
Apple releases Epson printer drivers
Apple has issued a batch of printer drivers for Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), making the package freely available for download via its Web site, says Softpedia.
Including the latest Epson printing and scanning software for Snow Leopard, Epson Printer Drivers v2.1 require Mac OS X v10.6.1, the first (and latest) incremental update to Snow Leopard.
“Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard includes software for many printer and scanner models,” says Apple. “This software can be installed from the Snow Leopard Install DVD, and installed or updated by using Software Update.”
