Xerox products earn Better Buys for Business award

Johannesburg, 14 Mar 2008

Better Buys for Business has awarded the Xerox DocuColor 242, 252 and 260 and the WorkCentre 7232, 7242 and 7328 the Editor's Choice award in its recently published guide to colour copiers.

The WorkCentre 7328 was praised for its ease of use through the large device user interface and next-generation drivers, exceptional print quality and feature set, including scan to text searchable PDF, job flow sheets and printing directly from USB thumb drive and compact flash card. This product is enabled with Xerox's Extensible Interface Platform (EIP), a Web-based platform, that lets customers and developers quickly and easily create customised workflow applications.

"Xerox continually raises the benchmark in innovation, enabling the company to expand its market share and ensure that it remains a leading global printer producer offering superior products," says Warren Lock, product manager: office systems group at Bytes Document Solutions, sole authorised distributor of Xerox products and solutions to 24 African countries.

As the company's latest light production printers, the DocuColor 242, 252 and 260 make internal printing of newsletters, proposals, invoices, presentations, digital photos, brochures, posters, catalogues and direct mail pieces effortless.

"Production of colour printing is easy, affordable and professional with outstanding image quality, a choice of print speeds and feeding capabilities and the ability to handle a wide range of media sizes and weights," says Amanda Hetherington, senior product manager at Bytes Document Solutions. "In addition, there is a choice of five colour servers for sophisticated colour control and document management."

The WorkCentre 7232 and 7242 offer print speeds as fast as 10ppm in colour and 32 and 42ppm in black and white respectively. These entry-level, colour-capable multifunction products are designed for small to mid-sized workgroups that rely on black-and-white printing but need colour for some business applications. The systems offer two-sided copying and printing as well as many other features to increase productivity in the office. Also available is a full range of colour controls, such as Xerox Standard Accounting, that lets offices track use and set limits for their employees.

"Xerox continues to bring businesses around the world leading-class technology that increases productivity," says Erica Marks, product manager, office systems group at Bytes Document Solutions.

"These WorkCentre printers are robust enough to keep up with office demands and offer businesses the power to print in colour when needed, delivering higher impact documents and more productivity for customers."
