Xerox South Africa has bundled its FlowPort and DocuShare products in an Office Software Suite designed to maximise the potential of companies` digital solutions and give their document production the power and flexibility to help them grow their business, both nationally and internationally.
"The advent of digital technology has transformed the office environment, increasing document production, reliability and quality, and enabling users to electronically network their work without the need to print paper copies," says Chris Scholtz, manager for XPS.
"The Xerox Office Software Suite takes these benefits one step further, helping companies to fully use their digital technology (which is often under-used) and customise individual solutions to fit the way they work - at an affordable price and often without additional hardware investment," he continues.
The two Xerox Software Suite solutions - FlowPort and DocuShare - accelerate work processes, integrate technology, facilitate knowledge sharing and reduce print and document-stream costs. Companies can invest in the entire software suite or pick modular components.
FlowPort software enables simultaneous scan and distribution to any IP address as well as storing of scanned images in a document repository. It can also retrieve and print from any printer or scanner, scan to e-mail and fax, integrate paper and digital work processes; and print, scan and route electronic files when there`s no access to a PC.
In addition, it accelerates workflow, integrates scan/print and Internet functions, and reduces telecommunications, mail and labour costs.
DocuShare, on the other hand, facilitates knowledge sharing. Scholtz says it`s affordable, easy to use and install, and is maintained "organically" by users as they use it and grow it. The system is secure and can be accessed by designated personnel at any desktop.
"The Xerox Software Suite can be applied in sites such as retail (employee records, resumes and invoices), research (capture and retrieve research papers), payroll service (client files and tax forms), financial services (overnight mail, fax, client files and tax forms), manufacturing (material safety data sheets, product manuals and parts catalogues), education (curriculum development and admissions processes), and healthcare (forms on demand, admission procedures and multi-part forms).
