Xerox unveils solid ink printers
Recycling Times reports.
The new colour multifunction printers (MFPs) - ColorQube 8700 and 8900 - are developed by the company's solid-ink engineering team in Wilsonville. Rather than deploying cartridges, the ColorQube 8700 and 8900 apply solid-ink technology, which use blocks of waxy ink that feel like crayons.
The company claimed that the ColorQube 8700/8900 MFPs produce up to 90% less printing waste and use 17% less life cycle energy compared to laser MFPs in the same class.
According to Delmarva Document Solutions, with the ColorQube, any size business can create professional-looking, colourful marketing materials and other documents on a range of media, including recycled paper.
Cost-savings can be gained with Hybrid Colour Pricing Plans, allowing businesses to pay only for the amount of colour on a given page. This is an important differentiation when using just a little bit of colour, such as a company logo on a letterhead.
