Xerox, distributed in 24 sub-Saharan countries by Bytes Document Solutions, has introduced the WorkCentre PE220 black-and-white multifunction system designed specifically for small and medium businesses.
The device provides fax, copy, scan and print functionality to support individual users and small workgroups.
"Small and medium business users need an affordable multifunction device to support growing business needs," says Ernest Leong, product manager OPB (office products business) at Bytes Document Solutions. "The WorkCentre PE220 was designed to provide individual users or small workgroups with all the functionality they need in one inexpensive device."
The Xerox WorkCentre PE220 prints and copies at up to 20ppm and has a first-page-out time as fast as 11 seconds. Fax transmission lines average speeds of three seconds while colour scanning resolution reaches 4 800dpi.
The device comes bundled with ScanSoft`s PaperPort SE v10.0, a document and image management software that allows people to manage scanned files, and Abby FineReader software to convert paper into editable electronic documents. Both tools equip small businesses to quickly turn stacks of paper such as letters, contracts, tables and manuals into easily editable word processing and spreadsheet documents.
