Software AG has further expanded Tamino XML Server's functional range to allow for the implementation of a number of commonly used and high-performance platforms, including Linux for Intel and mainframes, Windows 2000 and Windows XP, Sun Solaris, IBM AIX and HP-UX.
Features of the newly expanded Version 4.1.4 include:
* Indexing for documents that are not available in XML format (Tamino XML Server supports many formats for this, including Microsoft Office, OpenOffice/StarOffice, MP3 files and ZIP archives, and in doing so automatically accepts meta data stored in the files).
* An option to carry out phonetic document searches to increase the number of hits. (This is optimised for German, but it can be used effectively for Romance languages).
* Highlighting of found search terms within the list of results using freely definable tags and a special word-root search function to take account of varying tenses and declinations. (This function is designed for German, but can be modified for use with other languages).
* A more user-friendly Schema Editor, which can be downloaded from the Developer Community Web site (http://developer.softwareag.com/tamino/).
