xpedia fusion, an Oracle Certified E-Business Suite Partner, today announced it has appointed Pieter Olivier to the position of Managing Director, effective 1 July 2007.
He will also join xpedia's board of directors. Olivier, a seasoned executive with extensive experience in delivering consulting solutions, has held senior level positions at Dimension Data, BSW, JBA, and KSI (the sole distributor of Oracle Corporation in South Africa, prior to 1994).
According to Olivier, "xpedia has a solid foundation to build on, and I am looking forward to lead of a team of professionals that unlocks the full value of the Oracle solutions for our blue chip customers.
"A key requisite for us to have a sustainable business, is respect and trust for each other and our customers. Therefore, our company is based on values and principles, rather than a clutter of policies and rules, so we can liberate the talents of the best consultants to the benefit of our customers".
Olivier's career started as a computer auditor for the Department of Post and Telecommunications. After a few years he joined SPL in the projects division as a Natural/Adabas programmer.
"SPL provided the launching pad for my potential and I did everything from programming to project management, to running an outsource contract for SPL at the CSIR," said Olivier. When the opportunity came around to manage the KSI (later Oracle South Africa) consulting division, it was the start of the next phase of his career.
He also spent time with JBA and Spicer and then joined Dimension Data seven years ago. "It was a non-stop growth experience," according to him and included roles like centre of excellence management, pre-sales management and professional services management for the operations management line of business.
Leen van der Bijl, Chairman of xpedia, says: "The time had come for xpedia fusion to take the next major step on its growth path. Pieter is well-qualified and has the undisputed track-record to drive that next step. We like his value-set and, and with the dedication for which he is known, we know that success is imminent".
"Pieter entertains an excellent network with major players in the ICT arena in South Africa and will ensure sustainable and growing business development for xpedia. He is an exceptionally experienced manager, and has the competencies that we require for him to look after and mentor our consultants and to ensure they stay the best in the South African Oracle ERP solution delivery space. We are happy to have him on board," says Jakkie Harington, Managing Director of the xpedia it group.
The xpedia it group was formed in early 2003 by Jakkie Harington and Leen van der Bijl. xpedia delivers strategic information technology services to African companies. The two largest subsidiaries in the group are xpedia fusion and xpedia applications.
xpedia fusion implements new Oracle E-Business suite applications and performs quality assurance and support services on existing Oracle Applications implementations.
