Xylo in sync with Intel Pentium 4

Xylo, the own brand PC division of Siltek Distribution Dynamics (SDD), a member of JSE-listed Siltek Limited, SA's largest Technology Supply Chain Group, has launched their Intel Pentium 4 offering alongside Intel, who have its world-wide launch on Monday November 20, 2000.

Stephan van Rensburg, Xylo director, says the company has invited all their resellers to view the Intel Pentium 4 processor in action. "The demonstration will take place at SDD branches in Midrand, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein and Nelspruit - from three in the afternoon on 20 November."

Country manager for Intel SA, Steven Nossel, says although the product will be available to smaller companies, for the official launch they have aided focused Intel channel members. "We have selected the major players in the local market and assisted them to be product ready by launch date".

Van Rensburg highlights that it is Intel's first new micro-architecture since 1995. "Preliminary data indicates that the Intel Pentium 4 processor is 22 percent faster in Internet performance than current offerings." He adds that with enhanced graphics capabilities as well as high performance platform scalability, Web surfers and game lovers will be eager adopters of the new CPU.

Resellers interested in joining Xylo for a look at the product and its capabilities should book an appointment with the Xylo division at their specific SDD branch. "Although it is not a formal presentation, Xylo desktops with 1.4GHz and 1.5GHz processors will be available to the resellers to play around with and become familiar with the new capabilities it presents," concludes van Rensburg.
