Xylo warranty repairs take off

Xylo, the own brand PC division of Siltek Distribution Dynamics (SDD) - a member of the Siltek IT Supply Chain, has joined forces with Advanced Technical Services (ATS) to provide maintenance support for Xylo notebook users across the country. This standard warranty assures users of a maximum 72-hour turn around time courtesy of an aerial courier service.

Tracy Engelbrecht, Xylo product manager, says technical assistance is a toll-free phone call away for notebook users, no matter where they find themselves. "Whether it is in Makwasie or Sandton, all they need to do is phone the toll-free number provided with the notebook, and we will do the rest," adds Engelbrecht.

ATS has two repair centres in Gauteng where repairs are done by specialised technicians. "Due to the central location of our workshops we are able to collect parts easily and physically with other experts in the industry, if need be," says Tommy Tolken, co-owner of ATS. "We are familiar with the Xylo line of products and are in a position to offer swift maintenance and support," he adds.

Additionally, Xylo offers its clients an extension of the standard two-year warranty agreement. "We offer this extension in order to best serve our clients. "Most business users travel extensively and have a tight schedule - they have no time to drop-off or collect faulty machines," says Engelbrecht.

Xylo considered various maintenance options also on-site repairs, but had to consider the inconvenience of working in an environment not suitable for repairs. "If one of our technicians had to go to a site he would need to carry both repair equipment and spare parts - you can never be 100 percent sure what the cause of a problem is until you have inspected the machine yourself," concludes Tolken.
