YSL, the specialist unified communication provider, has announced the launch of Y-suite, a set of unified communication components developed to seamlessly integrate into Microsoft Outlook 2007.
Louis Yssel, CEO, said the solution is currently the only solution that offers users a VOIP service directly from their mailboxes.
Y-suite is based in Outlook and makes converged or unified communication a reality - no extra plug-ins or software is required. The suite also includes modules for telephony, integrated faxing, SMS, instant messaging as well as synchronising mailboxes with mobile phones.
According to Yssel, unified communications could be the next Internet killer app. This is emphasised by the recent JV announcement between Microsoft and Cisco, specifically aimed at taking advantage of the business benefits of Unified Communication.
Yssel commented on this, adding that very often great technology advances, such as unified communication, is reserved for larger businesses with big IT budgets. Y-suite aims to change this. Y-suite was developed to specifically meet the communication requirements and budgets of small and medium enterprises, and is sold as a monthly subscription service, without the high initial capex required to implement similar solutions.
This model lowers the barrier of entry, limits capex, has a very short installation lead-time and ensures that businesses have a single accountable partner for all their office communications. In addition, Y-suite also offers comprehensive up-to-date itemised billing, a crucial variable in any business.
YSL currently dominates the South African market in terms of offering Hosted Exchange as a solution through its software as a service (SaaS), and was the first South African company to offer Microsoft Exchange 2007 as a hosted service.
