Y3K has released F-Secure`s Workstation Suite 4.1, which provides an easy-to-manage solution for data security in modern corporations. The suite delivers end-to-network-end security with virus protection and strong encryption from a central management workstation.
Y3K says Workstation Suite 4.1 is unique in that it integrates anti-virus protection with strong encryption for network traffic and files stored on the hard disk. Other data security offerings lack centralised policy-based management features and most of these products do not include strong encryption.
The centralised management capabilities of the F-Secure Workstation Suite make it possible to control all of the security applications of a distributed organisation from one central management workstation.
Security policies can be defined and modified automatically on both a global and local scale, without end-user intervention. Updating virus signature databases and engines can also be remotely automated. Furthermore, the F-Secure Workstation Suite 4.1 operates in the Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT and Windows 2000 environments.
The product ships with F-Secure Administrator, a Pure Java-based graphical console for managing the security policies for the whole enterprise network.
"F-Secure Workstation Suite`s centralised management functionality enables network administrators to execute and maintain all corporate security policies from one management console," says Hilton Gray, sales manager at Y3K. "It merges world-class protection against malicious code with unobtrusive file and network encryption."
Current South African F-Secure Anti-Virus users will be able to automatically upgrade to the new technology, allowing centralised policy-based management of a multi-tier anti-virus solution.
F-Secure`s plans to support the classic version of F-Secure Anti-Virus with virus signature updates until the end of the year, but expects the vast majority of customers to upgrade to the F-Secure Framework enabled version long before that.
