Ubuntu most popular for Alfresco
Alfresco Software, an open source enterprise content management provider, has released its second global survey of trends in the use of open source software in the enterprise, reports Fox Business.
The Alfresco Open Source Barometer Survey, conducted throughout 2007 using opt-in data provided by Alfresco's 35 000 community members, shows deployments of Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux have a market share of 24% and 21%, respectively.
"We are very pleased that Ubuntu is consistently the most popular Linux platform on which to trial or implement Alfresco," commented Jane Silber, COO of Canonical UK. "Alfresco is rightly recognised as one of the best open source content management systems."
