York chooses CMS
The City of York council is implementing Mediasurface 5 and Morello content management system (CMS) for its public facing Internet and council staff intranet, according to PublicTechnology.net.
The solution is to be integrated with a customer relationship management solution by systems integrator, LogicaCMG.
Philip Brotherson, business development manager at LogicaCMG said: "The project will enable businesses and residents in York to experience a better quality of service from the council and provide a marked improvement to the whole 'citizen experience`".
Magnolia unveils AJAX-powered CMS
Magnolia Organisation has released Magnolia 3.0 Beta 1, the next generation of its open source enterprise content management (ECM) system.
"Magnolia 3.0 is the first commercial open source ECM system that seamlessly integrates Web content management and document management through one intuitive, Web-based, AJAX-powered user interface," writes Sys-Con Belgium.
Magnolia is available in more than 15 languages including Russian, Chinese, English, French, German and Spanish.
Google search entended
Inxight Software released Inxight Search Extender for Google, an application that allows Google Search Appliance and Google Desktop users to find relevant documents faster and locate hidden information in document sets and individual documents.
"Powered by Inxight`s ThingFinder extraction technology, Inxight Search Extender for Google automatically clusters search results on-the-fly, enabling users to filter their results sets by the people, companies, places, concepts and other information contained within them," writes The Gilbane Report.
