YouSendIt unveils collaboration tool

Workstream integrates with Microsoft SharePoint and new administrative policies to transform how users securely share content beyond the firewall and across mobile devices, desktops and the Web.

As more employees take work home and use personal devices at work, Workstream addresses document security across multiple platforms and devices, PCWorld states.

It lets you control read/write permissions on documents, preventing final versions of documents from being overwritten. People downloading files are required to verify their identities, and administrators can see analytics of all file-sharing activity.

In December, YouSendIt expanded from its position as a digital courier service for sending files too large to be transmitted by e-mail, adding file storage and synchronisation, InformationWeek says.

That was its entry into the popular and hotly contested market shared by Dropbox, Box, and many others, including the OpenText Tempo product recently released.
