Zensar aims to up India revenue

Keeping pace with the rapidly growing domestic IT services market, medium-size software firm Zensar Technologies aims revenues up to 40% from the Indian SME segment in the next two years, said Ganesh Natarajan, CEO of the company, states the Financial Express.

At present, 80% of the company's domestic revenues come from large corporations, including a small share of medium-size enterprises.

The engineering, automotive and the sector is expected to drive the growth in the SME segment.

Ministry to consider SME tax benefits

The issue of tax benefits to Indian SMEs will be taken into consideration in the tax reforms which are being formulated by the finance ministry, notes SME Times.

Enumerating views in this context, commerce secretary Rahul Khullar said: "I think that there will be assistance on the rules of the game. It will be changed. I do not want to pre-judge what the new rules will be."

Industry stalwarts have expressed concerns that tax benefits for all IT firms under the STPI scheme are available until 31 March, while the SME sector does not get the equitable benefit under the SEZ scheme unlike large IT firms.

Parallels to better services in AZN

US-based virtualisation and software vendor Parallels has opened an office in Sydney to better service the ANZ market, says Reseller News.

Its software, which includes Desktop 5 for Mac, is aimed at business, consumer and cloud service providers.

The vendor is using distributors Conexus, Software Only and Renaissance.
