Zensar delivers robust performance numbers

Profit jump 47% in FY 2009-10 and 19% in Q4.

Zensar Technologies, the leading global IT and BPO services provider, has reported excellent profit growth for the year ended 31 March 2010.

Financial highlights:
Consolidated results for the quarter ended 31 March 2010 vis-`a-vis last year
* Revenue was up from Rs 908.08 Cr to Rs 952.76 Cr showing a 5% growth year-on-year.
* Net Income grew from Rs 86.56 Cr to Rs 127.56 Cr showing a 47% growth year-on-year.
* EPS up from Rs 36.12 to Rs 54.23 a growth of 50% year-on-year growth.

For the fourth quarter, revenue was up from Rs. 214.76 Cr to Rs 232.65 Cr as against same quarter last year, showing 8% growth. Net income was Rs 27.42 crores against Rs 23.03 crores for the same quarter last year, showing a 19% growth.

Dr Ganesh Natarajan, Vice Chairman and MD of Zensar, said: “Though the economic environment continues to be volatile, we have delivered a strong net income growth in the year. With excellent order booking in all geographies across all our service areas, we are very confident of continuing our successful run during the current financial year.”

The company has announced senior appointments to enable it to manage its significant growth plans. Four independent strategic business units have been created and Vivek Gupta, erstwhile Head of the India operations, has been named Chief Executive of Global Transformation Services, Zensar's largest business unit. Zensar has also appointed Gopalji Mehrotra, a seasoned human resource leader with a proven track record nationally and internationally in ITC and Kennametal USA, as Global Head of Human resources.

Gopalji Mehrotra, Global Head Talent Management, said: “The company has significant organic growth and acquisition plans in the coming years and I am delighted to be at the helm of affairs. This year will see significant challenges for recruitment and retention in a volatile job market, but our excellent associate engagement record and continuing focus on talent management excellence will stand us in good stead.”

Vivek Gupta, Chief Executive of Global Transformation Services, said: “GTS is a flag bearer of Zensar and has shown 17% revenue growth in the last financial year in spite of sluggish markets. This year we have a strong focus on the domestic market with focus on key segments of government, healthcare, manufacturing and logistics in India by launching new offerings and partnerships to service these sectors. The company has also been recently empanelled as IT consultant for the nationwide Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme (R-APDRP) launched by the Ministry of Power, Government of India in the XI Five year Plan to prevent frequent outages, and transmission and distribution losses due to theft and unmetered supply.”

Business update

* The company has added 25 new customers during the quarter, six new customers added in the year have a potential of becoming multimillion-dollar accounts. These include two leading life insurance companies in South Africa and one in the UK, two utilities customers in the domestic market and an airline major in Australia.
* The company has been awarded Oracle Platinum status for its expertise in providing world class solutions & services across Oracle E-Business Suite, Fusion Middleware, Oracle Retail, Hyperion (Enterprise performance management), Siebel and Business Intelligence.Income.
* The company is also a Gold Certified Partner for Microsoft, which is the highest level of competence and expertise with Microsoft technologies.
