Zimele Technologies, a leading provider of ERP consulting, today announced it won a tender to develop an efficient and functional automated meter reading (AMR) system and implement a management database system to improve the electricity billing process for the Stellenbosch Municipality.
Zimele will work in close consultation with Stellenbosch Municipality and Applied Metering Innovation to successfully implement and configure a pre-developed Web-based AMR system that is a multi-vendor AMR system and that is compatible with most meters.
The project is due to start in January 2013, for the duration of three years.

Zimele is proud to be the only BBBEE SME with SAP trained integration of AMI consultants, and has been involved in the successful completion of proof of concept for large power users. Zimele has worked with an AMI specialist to gain the experience to become a subject matter expert. In addition, Zimele Technologies has been part of a consortium led by Accenture in setting up and running an AMI solution for LPUs.
