Zultys Technologies, the leading manufacturer of communications equipment for businesses and enterprises, today announced that its MX30 IP PBX has been selected as Telecommunications Product of the Year by Techworld, a business unit of International Data Group (IDG), the world`s leading technology media, research, and event company.
The MX30 integrates voice, data, and fax, and provides the functions of an IP PBX, Internet gateway, firewall, NAT, and VPN, allowing companies complete control over their internal communications. Launched a little more than one year ago, the MX30 gives smaller organisations all the features and functions of Zultys` larger award-winning MX250 IP PBX. Though only the size of a laptop PC, the MX30 scales to support 30 users and is easily installed on the customer`s premises.
"It is a great honour to win this award for our MX30 product," said Iain Milnes, President of Zultys Technologies. Milnes had made a special trip to London with the hope of winning the award. "The judges had selected some highly capable products as the finalists, so it was an intense moment for us to hear the results. I am proud of the entire team at Zultys for this marvellous result."
Techworld received a record number of entries this year. These were evaluated by an independent panel of judges who were impressed by the level of innovation and dedication shown by the submitting companies. The awards presentations were made at a gala held at the Royal Courts of Justice on 28 June.
"Small businesses represent one of the fastest growing markets around the world - and in particular South Africa," said Anton de Jager, CEO of Core Networks, the local distributor. "This award reinforces the Zultys vision of packaging technological innovation in powerful, small-scale solutions. The MX30 allows small enterprises a level playing field on which to grow their businesses."
The MX30 and MX250 systems from Zultys provide users with all the functionality of a complete PBX along with features such as presence, instant messaging and advanced call handling - all available through a single graphical user interface (GUI). Zultys also produces a range of phones that varies in features, functions and price. The product family includes wired and wireless products, from simple desktop phones to highly sophisticated conferencing units. Peripherals from Zultys offer customers a complete solution and include modular gateways, battery systems, and power over Ethernet (PoE) switches.
