Zycko, the official distributor of Polycom voice communication solutions, has announced the Polycom VVX 1500 C business media phone has been certified for use with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (UCM) 6.1 and 7.0 by tekVizion, an independent third-party lab.
The VVX 1500 C, which is the model certified for interoperability with Cisco UCM, combines a personal videoconferencing system with a fully featured voice over IP (VOIP) telephone with Polycom HD Voice and an open application programming interface (API) for integration with key business applications.

In a Cisco Unified Communications environment, employees using the VVX 1500 C business media phone can place video and voice calls with a touch of the screen to all of the voice and video endpoints that are part of the unified communications network. Using Cisco Unified Video Conferencing multipoint control unit (MCU) or Cisco Unified MeetingPlace products, the VVX 1500 C can also participate in multipoint video conference calls. In addition to its video and voice capabilities, the VVX 1500 C features an open API and microbrowser. It comes bundled with several applications, including the Polycom Productivity Suite and a trial subscription to the 'My Info Portal Web' service, through which end-users can elect to receive content such as local weather reports and other personalised information on the colour display.
