Cambium Networks, wireless broadband solutions provider, has appointed Pinnacle Africa as the official distributor of its wireless broadband solutions (ePMP) in South Africa.

Gerhard Gouws, enterprise brand executive manager at Pinnacle Africa, says there is a wealth of opportunity for the ePMP products.

The ePMP products provide an 'across the board' offering to organisations covering everything from lower-end, low cost WiFi, all the way up to enterprise microwave equipment, he adds.

Because the product can all be managed by the enterprise cloud management it offers a better quality branded entry level product into the market, says Gouws.

Enterprise customers can now scale from enterprise microwave products down to client devices (voice over Internet protocol gateways, access points) thereby reducing their overall operational costs but still enjoying enterprise level quality and support, he adds.

"In the wireless market, companies are always looking for something better but don't want to pay enterprise level prices. Given the lower costs for proven performance and quality, ePMP products offer the perfect solution."

Gouws says the appointment complements Pinnacle's SADC expansion strategy and the company will appoint distributors and resellers for the product within the region.

He notes reliable, affordable and easy access to telecommunication services is key to social and economic development in Africa.

He believes the distribution of the ePMP product within the SADC region will most certainly aid in this development.
