The 'game' has changed - proactive managed services is the requirement for today's environment

There is no doubt that today's IT landscape has changed dramatically with the advent of virtualisation and cloud computing, the proliferation of devices in the network, the growing complexity of organisations' networks, and the economic pressures that are now being faced, with the result that new approaches are needed to address this situation. However, through the use of automation, not only can these issues be handled, but a leaner and more efficient user operation can be created and some financial savings achieved. Thus, symptoms can be handled and resolved before they create problems.

It is a customised and managed platform giving business a highly secure environment that includes remote access, inter-branch connectivity, mail and Web hosting, as well as connectivity management and firewalling.

"Despite the move to hosted or cloud environments, support is still needed for connected devices, particularly in the areas of security and connectivity," concluded Berndt. "It's that the role has migrated to a higher level; however, the necessity is still there."
