Huawei says its enterprise group will accelerate its focus on ICT infrastructure for the 2016 financial year.

Huawei's Safe City Solution has been deployed by over 100 cities across more than 30 countries, including Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.

This is according to the ICT solutions provider, which said at Huawei Analyst Summit 2016 that the solution already serves more than 400 million people around the world.

A product of Huawei's Enterprise Business Group (EBG), the Safe City Solution was launched in partnership with industry partners to provide cities effective public safety solutions for incident prevention, emergency response and evidence collection.

David He, president of the marketing and solution sales department at Huawei EBG, said: "In 2015, Huawei EBG experienced rapid growth in the public safety, finance, transportation and energy sectors."

He added: "With the development of innovative ICT, including cloud computing, big data, software-defined networking and Internet of things, customers' business models, enterprises' IT architectures, and industry ecosystems are changing profoundly."

According to Huawei, EBG achieved strong growth in 2015, which was fuelled by customer demand for new ICT solutions like the Safe City Solution.

Last year, Huawei EBG generated $4.25 billion annual revenue, an increase of 43.8% year-over-year.

To further drive growth of its enterprise group, Huawei explained that its vision and strategy for 2016 is to accelerate focus on ICT infrastructure.

Huawei is committed to jointly innovating with its partners and customers, and facilitating the business transformation of customers across different industries, including government, public safety, finance, energy, transportation, manufacturing, education and Internet service provision, the company said.
