LSD Information Technology, leading provider of IT consulting and IT infrastructure based on open source software for the southern African market, and LINBIT, a global leader in Linux high availability and disaster recovery technologies, have signed a partnership agreement in southern Africa. This partnership enables LSD to provide LINBIT's product stack to its customers.

LINBIT offers a variety of high availability disaster recovery products, including Linux-based storage replication software for local high availability. Since its introduction in 1999, LINBIT's DRBD solution has become the de facto replication standard for high availability clusters and is now in use in a wide range of organisations and businesses worldwide. In 2009, DRBD was accepted into the Linux Mainline Kernel, making it available to virtually all Linux distros worldwide. In addition, LINBIT offers a Cluster Stack Health Check service, which ensures the optimised performance of Linux high availability clustering solutions.
