ViewSonic ViewPad enters US

ViewSonic is bringing the ViewPad 7 and ViewPad 10 tablet computing devices to the US market, and the 10-inch version will be able to book either Android 1.6 or Windows 7 Home Premium, reveals AME info

“Leveraging our 20-year display heritage, these new ViewPad solutions provide users with anytime anywhere connectivity,” said ViewSonic America's vice-president and general manager Jeff Volpe in a statement.

“With access to the universe of Android apps, our new ViewPads are perfectly suited for enjoying digital entertainment and social media. Office productivity is also a snap with robust Web browsing functionality.”

KT depends on online growth

Cloud computing has been doing the rounds as an IT 'buzzword' for many years and KT is out to assure that it finally goes mainstream, reports Korea Times.

The Korean telecommunications company is betting heavily that its next significant growth spurt will depend on its ability to deliver on the massive expectations for online computing and update life in the cubicle to match the latest advancements of the digital age.

This has the company taking a central role in the Korea's so-called 'smart work' initiative, which is aimed at taking advantage of ubiquitous high-speed Internet connections and Web-based computing power to better monitor and manage remote workers.

Xerox intros new colour range

Xerox India has unveiled an entry-level light production colour printer, the Xerox Colour 550/560 that comes with a colour touch screen, reports Times of India.

According to the company, applications ranging from marketing materials and photo specialty items to office documents and PowerPoint presentations can be produced on the Xerox Colour 550. While this model is capable of printing 50 colour pages per minute or 55 in monochrome, the Xerox Colour 560 can do the same at 60 colour pages or 65 per minute in monochrome.

"We've taken the most sought-after elements of digital printing and built a solution that can integrate into any print environment," says Kuldeep Malhotra, associate director product marketing, Xerox India
