CSC extends ETS outsourcing deal

CSC has signed a five-and-a-half-year information technology operations outsourcing contract renewal and expansion with educational testing and assessment organisation, Educational Testing Service (ETS), CBR Online reports.

Under the agreement, CSC will provide its cloud services to ETS, including CloudCompute, the new infrastructure as a service (IaaS) architecture deployed in the CSC Trusted Cloud Data Centres.

CloudCompute is a VMware vCloud data centre service that delivers compute, storage and network resources "as a service" to support any application, and is especially suited for hosting mission- and business-critical workloads.

According to MENA FN, additional services that CSC will provide include service desk, end-user support, network support, distributed computing, security operations, disaster recovery and data centre management. Work will be performed utilising CSC's worldwide network of delivery centres.

"We are excited at the opportunity to continue our work with ETS, an organisation that has a strong grasp of the way IT can be used to more effectively and efficiently position their business for the future," said Joe Schechter, president of Managed Services Sector Americas at CSC.

"We are committed to building on the great partnership we have formed with ETS and to further supporting their IT needs."

"Customers like ETS are invaluable to CSC because they are proactive in offering insights and feedback about their experience with our cloud services," said Siki Giunta, VP of Global Cloud Services and Software at CSC.
