Caridon Business Solutions has been accredited to provide business continuity management training.

The company has been appointed an authorised training partner for the Professional Evaluation and Certification Board (PECB) in the ISO 22301 standard, which will allow the Caridon Academy to deliver PECB training and certifications throughout Africa, at Introduction, Foundation, Lead Implementer, and Lead Auditor levels.

"This enables the Caridon team to provide accredited services and advice to organisations wishing to implement the latest ISO standards for business continuity management," says Brian Henry, MD at Caridon.

Certifications of this type are currently restricted to only a certain number of rigorously selected training providers.

According to the International Organisation for Standardisation, the ISO 22301 standard is a BCM systems standard that can be used by organisations and business continuity managers to obtain accredited certification. This certification can be used to demonstrate adherence to good BCM practice, and the achievement of a recognised standard, to top management, legislators, regulators and other interested parties.

Individuals undertaking the Caridon training will sit examinations at various stages throughout the courses, which will result in internationally recognised certifications, according to Henry.

Professional certifications acknowledged by the PECB must be maintained annually, by reporting to the PECB the number of hours spent annually on related auditing or implementation tasks. This ensures a continued high standard among certified practitioners.

"Our appointment as an accredited PECB training provider is a development that will benefit the SADC region and beyond, enabling the creation of globally recognised skills from a pool of great local talent," Henry concludes.
