Thycotic, a provider of privileged access management (PAM) solutions for more than 10 000 organisations worldwide, announced it has expanded its presence among emerging cyber security markets in Africa. The new office is located in Cape Town, South Africa and is led by Thycotic Country Manager for Africa & Israel, Pierre Louw.
"The recent ransomware attacks on many companies in Africa point to an urgent and growing need for simple, affordable and effective PAM and application control solutions," according to Louw.
Thycotic provides on-premises and cloud solution options that limit privileged account risk, implement least privilege policies, control applications and demonstrate compliance. Competing with PAM vendors such as CyberArk, Louw emphasised that Thycotic offers a complete range of PAM products that are easy to install and maintain for organisations of all sizes, from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.
"Thycotic is one of the fastest growing cyber security companies in the world because its products are simple to deploy and use, and therefore readily adopted by security and IT operations professionals alike," Louw noted. "Thycotic has proven especially useful to organisations in helping to meet compliance requirements around various regulations, including GDPR and POPI."
Operating in Africa under a two-tiered model, Louw is actively recruiting in the IT security industry throughout the continent, seeking partners who want to add best-of-breed technology to their product portfolios.
"Based on his 27 years' experience, with nine years specialising in IT security, Pierre is the ideal candidate to grow the Thycotic brand in the African marketplace," said Simon Azzopardi, Vice-President, International at Thycotic. "Pierre has a proven track record building sound business relationships with strategic customers, resulting in the delivery of successful business strategies all over the region."
