Leading VGA card manufacturer, Gigabyte Technology, together with South African distributor Rectron, has introduced the GV-NX78X256V-B, one of the industry`s first next-generation high-definition PC gaming VGA solutions based on the NVIDIA GeForce 7800GTX graphics processor.
The VGA solution features 24 pixel pipelines as well as technological advancements such as Microsoft DirectX 9.0C and OpenGL 2.0. It is also fully compatible with 64-bit operating systems and is the first card to support the upcoming Windows Longhorn 3D Desktop.
The NVIDIA GeForce 7800GTX GPU featured on the new GV-NX78X256V-B boasts a fourth-generation graphics engine that streamlines the creation of complex visual effects through features such as the CineFX 4.0 engine that allows developers to create 3D game features and effects for both game animation and high-definition video.
Plus, for discerning PC gamers, the GV-NX78X256V-B incorporates Intellisample 4.0 which increases performance at higher resolutions through advances in compression technology.
The VGA solution also incorporates PureVide, a technology that offers support for new video formats, while its motion estimation engine (MEE) allows the card to record and play video files simultaneously without interrupting system performance.
Adds Michael Hann, Gigabyte product manager at Rectron: "The VGA solution features high-definition MPEG-2 and WMV HD hardware accelerator that takes on much of the heavy lifting during playback of Hi-Def video."
The GV-NX78X256V-B is equipped with video in and out (VIVO), HDTV, DVI-I, D-SUB output, and comes bundled with an impressive range of software, including Cyberlink PowerDirector 3.0 ME, PowerDVD 6.0, Joint Operations, and Xpand Rally.
