Ezee-Dex Online Services launches B2B Web-based sales solution for suppliers

New B2B online sales solution from Ezee-Dex allows suppliers to turn their Web presence into a virtual point-of-sale, increase their sales, and reach new territories
Johannesburg, 21 Nov 2002

Ezee-Dex Online Services today announced the availability of a new online trading solution, Ezee-Dex Sell, which allows suppliers to easily create online buying points for their customers on the Internet.

Ezee-Dex Online Services has already launched the locally-developed solution developed in response to a need articulated by suppliers who said they lacked the tools to sell their goods and services easily over the Internet. Ezee-Dex has a customer base of over 600 suppliers with searchable Web catalogues mainly in the industrial and engineering fields, and has created the best used and most extensive procurement information source for procurement managers with 42 000 companies listed and 200 000 products catalogued.

Ezee-Dex has also become the preferred source of information for international companies sourcing products and services from SA, and 50% of its visitors to the company`s Web site are from abroad.

"Ezee-Dex Sell will extend the services that are currently offered enabling a customer to buy directly from any enabled suppliers` Web site where the Authorised To Sell icon appears. We believe that this provides a cost-effective way for companies to increase their profits through improved sales," says Lizette McIntosh, Ezee-Dex Sell consultant at Ezee-Dex. "This is also the first truly South African Web-based trading system locally engineered and designed for our specific requirements."

The service was developed locally after extensive research into products currently available yielded no single product that satisfied suppliers` requirements, and is based on Microsoft technology. "We felt that there was no single product available that answered all of our customers` requirements," explains McIntosh.

Companies can now develop their company Web site into a self-contained online shop. Its most important feature is an online ordering mechanism allowing customers to purchase items directly from an online product catalogue and price list.

"We`ve created a service that is simple to use," adds Christine Thomson, a director at Ezee-Dex Online Services, explaining that because the service is hosted the supplier does not need to install any new software in order to use the service. "It also allows for a one-on-one relationship between the supplier and their customer," she adds.
