Zylstra is a Chartered Accountant and senior ICT executive with 25 years of local and international experience. He is passionate about digital transformation and assisting companies to adopt 'cloud-first' strategies. His experience covers multiple industries, including financial services, logistics, FMCG, manufacturing, public sector, oil and gas, and more recently, eight years in retail and related supply chain operations.

Zylstra's specialties include:

IT strategy design and execution, digital transformation, business process re-engineering, Microsoft/SAP solution architecture, C-level trusted advisor, (CIO/IT director), infrastructure and network support, IT governance, risk and compliance, IT service delivery, IT transformation and change management. Multiple ERP system implementations, project and programme management (SAP, Oracle and Microsoft), enterprise information management, business process analysis (manufacturing, consumer products, finance and retail), leadership and development of teams and individuals through coaching and mentoring.

Van Staaden's strong consulting and professional services background gives him the ability to listen, understand and deliver meaningful and robust customer interaction experience strategies. His expertise lends itself to the realm of converging CXM (customer experience management) tool-sets with collaborative cloud services provision, the ultimate domain where software-defined technologies and services combine to amplify practical and effective CIX (customer interaction experience).

Van Staaden has built technology and business process outsourcing (BPO) businesses such as Digital Select Communications in 1993 and Inter-Active Technologies BPO in 1999. He is a seasoned C-level executive with a love for racing mountain and road bikes. This adventurer summitted Kilimanjaro and placed 11th in the Grand Master category of the ABSA Cape Epic in 2016.
